Boboye Will Revamp Heartland –GM, Nwachukwu Urges Fans’ Patience
[ad_1]
General Manager of Heartland, Promise Nwachukwu, is upbeat that with new Head Coach, Kennedy Boboye, the Naze Millionaires will survive the dreaded relegation to the second-tier league, NNL, despite their NPFL matchday 10 Oriental Derby defeat to Enyimba in Owerri on Saturday, November 25 2023, Completesports.com reports.
Nwachukwu, a Nigeria junior international, admits that it was painful losing all three points to the People’s Elephant in the game despite Heartland’s impressive rendition of crisp football, a complete departure from their early season scrappy performances.
He reckons that fate was cruel to his side on that bright Saturday afternoon at Dan Anyiam Stadium.
Nwachukwu insists that Heartland’s impressive performance against Enyimba highlighted what new coach, Kennedy Boboye is bringing to the club and pleads with the fans of the five-time NPFL Champions to hold their peace and believe that Boboye’s ‘Rescue mission’ will be successful as Heartland are not candidates of relegation this term.

“It feels bad to play so well and still couldn’t find the back of the net. Losing a game you had total control from start to finish as we did against Enyimba was too heartbreaking to take,” Nwachukwu told Completesports.com.
“Boboye barely had two training sessions with the team before that Enyimba match. And the performance of the team against Enyimba, in spite of the defeat, was a clear testament to what Boboye is bringing to the club.
“Yes, at the moment, we’re last on the table but I know things are gonna change for the better for us. Heartland are not relegation candidates. We’re ready for the fight and everybody knows the quality Boboye has – his credentials as a two-time league winner with two different clubs – Plateau United and Akwa United.
Nwachukwu added: “It’s going to be a collective race against the odd tide, including the technical crew, the players, the management and the government of Imo State who are the owners and financiers of the club.

“Our loyal and committed fans and supporters should put behind the past games and expect something significantly fresh and joyful at the end of the day,” the Heartland boss emphasised.
Heartland will travel to the Oluyole Warriors – Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, Ibadan – for their matchday 11 fixture this weekend.
