(KRON) — Caltrain service near California Avenue Station in Palo Alto was halted Friday after a deceased person was found on the train tracks. According to Caltrain officials, southbound Train 306 first reported seeing an object on the tracks ahead. The train stopped before reaching the incident area.
Further observation revealed the object to be a deceased person. Caltrain officials are currently reviewing video records to determine when the fatality occurred. Emergency personnel are responding to the scene.
Trains have since resumed moving through the incident area, Caltrain said. The affected area of track remains closed for investigation. Caltrain officials said they will provide more details as they become available.
