Car rolls down hill and smashes into Card Factory shop leaving onlookers stunned

COPS have reported a man after a car rolled down a hill before smashing into a shop.

Police Scotland received reports of the car colliding with the front entrance of the Card Factory in Coatbridge this afternoon.

The car smashed into the store on the main street at around 12.05 pm.

Images show the safety glass window shattered into pieces and cracked with the frames of the shop caving inwards.

Cops confirmed that no one was injured following the incident.

Jacqueline Toal said: “I work a few doors down in Poundland. I was very shocked; customers were talking about it all day. I’m just glad no one was injured; it could’ve been a lot worse.”

A 44-year-old man will be reported in connection with road traffic offences.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, we received a report of a car colliding with a building on Main Street, Coatbridge.

“Emergency services attended, and there were no reports of injuries. A 44-year-old man will be reported in connection with road traffic offences.”
