Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed the monster offers he’s turned down after retiring from the UFC in 2020.

Nurmagomedov signed off from the sport when he defeated Justin Gaethje via technical submission to defend and unify the UFC lightweight championship.

The UFC Hall of Fame member finished with a 29-0 unbeaten record.

Throughout retirement, the 35-year-old has been constantly asked whether he’d return to the Octagon but has yet to go close to a return.

Speaking to Daniel Cormier on UFC Fight Pass’ recent Ultimate 30 countdown, Nurmagomedov admitted it’d been hard to turn down offers.

“When you’re the best fighter in the world, when you’re strong enough, when you have money, when you’re famous, it’s very hard to say no to all these things,” he said.

“It’s very hard. It’s not easy. It’s not easy [to] just say no to 20, 30, 40 million dollars. But for myself, it’s not everything. This is not most important. It was not an easy decision, but if I decide, I decide.

“It’s finished. I leave this alone. I am happy and I never regret my decision. Never.”

Post-retirement, Nurmagomedov bought the Gorilla Fighting Championship and renamed it Eagle Fighting Championship.
