Chelsea Champions League Winner Set To Join Spurs On Loan

Former Chelsea forward Timo Werner is on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
This is according to Italian journalist and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, on his X handle, Werner was not in Leipzig squad for today’s (Saturday) friendly game with St. Gallen as he’s ready to join Tottenham on loan in the next 48 hours.
Romano explained that the deal is at final stages, just waiting for decision on buy option clause.
Also, he added that Spurs will cover 100% of Werner’s salary until June.

Werner has managed two goals in eighth matches for Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season.
He joined Chelsea in 2020 from Leipzig, scored 10 goals in 58 games in all competitions before returning to the German club in 2022.
During his time at Chelsea, Werner won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup all in 2021.
