Welcome to Chelsea vs Leeds
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still reeling from a last-minute defeat in the Carabao Cup final and will be looking to bounce back this evening.
Thiago Silva missed the final due to his ongoing groin issue and it is not known if he will be fit enough to marshal the defence this evening.
Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka and Benoit Badiashile all remain out for The Blues while Marc Cucurella is still on the comeback trail, tonight’s game may come too soon for him.
However, Robert Sanchez was back in the matchday squad at Wembley and could benefit from the tight turnaround, along with Trevoh Chalobah, Alfie Gilchrist, Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Cole Palmer is unlikely to be rested though as Pochettino revealed in his pre-game press conference that Christopher Nkunku faces up to four weeks out with an unspecified injury.
Leeds will be without Karl Darlow, Pascal Struijk, Stuart Dallas while Sam Byram is back in training and may be available for the cup game.
Farke revealed in his press conference that Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Patrick Bamford were all doubts for the match at Stamford Bridge.
Daniel James is expected to make a comeback for the tie, while Ethan Ampadu should be given the nod to face his former employers.
