Chevy Chase shocked fans when he fell off the stage during a National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Q&A in Buffalo, NY on Wednesday.
The actor, 80, who recently insisted he was in ‘amazing’ health’, looked cheery as he attended the screening, with the star arriving onstage in a wheelchair before walking towards the crowd at Shea’s Performing Arts Center.
However, the actor stepped off the stage and fell to the ground – to gasps from the crowd.
He was helped back up afterwards and seemed in good spirits, tipping his trademark baseball cap to relieved fans.
This comes after Chase’s manager insisted the star is in ‘amazing’ health despite the National Lampoon actor sparking concern when he was pictured in a wheelchair while supporting his close friend Sylvester Stallone at the weekend.

The actor, who is currently in the middle of his festive tour of the country, had travelled to Philadelphia on Sunday for the opening of Sylvester’s Rocky memorabilia shop.
Chevy, who is famed for appearing in the National Lampoon’s comedy film franchise, was pictured in a wheelchair before getting to his feet to pose for pictures with his 77-year-old pal.
Fans feared for his health after the images emerged – but representatives for Chevy have since quashed any concerns for the actor, telling DailyMail.com that he is in good shape.
‘His health is amazing and his tour, A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase, has been selling out across the country,’ they said in a statement.
‘He sometimes uses the chair due to all the airport travel – even at 80 years young.’
They added: ‘He does not need rest. His tour is extensive during the holiday season.’
Chevy was seen waving to guests at Sunday’s event, before encouraging them to shout ‘Two for one! Rocky and Clark Griswold’ – a reference to one of his lines from the National Lampoon films.
His appearance marked two years since he was admitted to hospital with near-fatal heart failure.

The actor and comedian opened up about the health scare last year, telling CBS’ Sunday Morning: ‘Oh, we removed it. Didn’t need it. It’s much better now.’
Chevy is currently touring the country with his A Live Conversation With Chevy Chase. The Q&A sessions, which kicked off in Chicago on November 26, follow special screenings of the beloved 1989 film, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, in which he played lead star Clark W. ‘Sparky’ Griswold Jr.
Chevy and his wife Jayni then share their behind-the-scenes stories from the set and take audience questions from fans.
The six-date tour will see him on stage in New York, Minnesota and New Jersey, as well as Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
The tour comes three months after Chevy divulged about his time on the sitcom Community, in which he played the politically incorrect millionaire of Hawthorne Wipes CEO Pierce Hawthorne, admitting that he ‘felt happier being alone.’
Speaking on the WTF Podcast, he said that while he ‘didn’t mind [his] character,’ he ‘didn’t want to be surrounded by that table, every day, with those people.’

He added: ‘It was too much. I honestly felt the show wasn’t funny enough for me, ultimately.
‘I felt a little bit constrained. Everybody had their bits, and I thought they were all good. It just wasn’t hard hitting enough for me.’
Chevy was fired from the critically acclaimed NBC comedy 11 years ago for using the N-word in front of co-stars Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover.
