Chicago Area in for some Snow; two winter storms threaten Upper Midwest

Nearly 40% or 132 million people across the lower 48 woke up to temperatures at or below freezing Thursday morning, including teens across portions of the Great Lakes and single digits in parts of the North Woods.

While much of the Chicago area is likely to see 1”+ of precipitation from both systems, it’s parts of Iowa, Minnesota, and northwest Wisconsin that are likely to see the heaviest totals
