City Heights opens new affordable housing complex

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A new affordable housing complex opened Friday in City Heights.
The two adjacent buildings, City Heights Place and City Heights Plaza Del Sol, consist of 135 new single-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartment homes, the County of San Diego said on its website.
Rent for two-bedroom apartments range from $930 to $1,861, while three-bedroom apartments go for $1,075 to $2,150, depending on the household income level, according to the county.
Families making 30-60 percent of the area median income will have an opportunity to live in the community that offers a large community room with a full kitchen, public gathering area, computer lab.
Other amenities include an open-air landscaped community deck, children’s play structure, BBQ area and seating, and a 53-spot parking garage with bike storage and a bike repair station.
The complex is within walking distance of public transportation, groceries, restaurants and the local YMCA.
