WHAT WE’RE LOOKING AT
- Spurs have won three of the last four EPL matches between the two.
- Tottenham has won the last five EPL matches held on a Sunday between the two.
- In five of the last seven matches between the pair, the ‘both teams to score’ market has failed to hit.
SPURS vs MAN CITY: THE MATCH-UP
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur face off in a heavyweight battle at the Etihad on Monday morning. City will return to top-flight action after claiming a 3-2 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
The Sky Blues’ latest Premier League outing came against Liverpool at home and resulted in a 1-1 stalemate.
Spurs failed to hold on to an early lead last weekend, falling 2-1 to Aston Villa at home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham has now lost three straight EPL matches, with the absences of James Maddison, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven proving difficult to overcome.

CITY TO GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS
Last weekend’s draw against hurt Manchester City as it not only allowed Liverpool to gain a point, but it also allowed Arsenal to overtake them on top of the EPL table.
The sloppiness City has shown at times this season was on display again against RB Leipzig midweek, with the Sky Blues down 2-0, before clicking into gear to eventually win 3-2.
Erling Haaland has proven inevitable, having now scored 50 EPL goals in just 48 games, an utterly remarkable stat. Haaland has 10 more than his closest teammate, Julian Alvarez, who has four.
Haaland will be buoyed by injuries to Tottenham players Rodrigo Bentancur and Micky van de Ven as well as the suspension to Cristian Romero. He could have himself a bag on Monday morning.

SPURS TO STOP THE SLIDE
After their best-ever start to an EPL season, Tottenham has slumped to three straight losses and are now in danger of losing pace with the top four if they drop another game. Were that to happen, it would be the first time since 2004 that Tottenham has lost four straight league matches.
Despite the losses, Tottenham has managed to continue to hit the scoreboard goals in those three games, albeit with only one goal in each. But it does show that, regardless of the injuries within the team, Spurs and their attacking nature will always be a threat.
Heung-min Son could have had multiple goals last week if not for VAR intervention.
THE PICK
City should win this and win well: Postecoglou has already shown that he is too stubborn to change his attacking game plan with Spurs and with their injury issues all over the park, City is the much classier team and should take this easily.
