DENVER (KDVR) — Light morning snow will taper off by midday on Friday with cooler temperatures and cloudy skies in the Denver weather forecast. Friday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day before a big weekend warmup.
Weather today: Early snow, evening clearing
Light snow is expected on Friday morning, and it could create some slick spots across the area. With the chance for a slippery commute, Friday morning is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day.
Snow will be done by the late morning in the metro with a dusting of accumulation possible. Skies will then clear through the evening.
Snow will linger over the foothills through the evening hours with an additional 1-4 inches of accumulation. A winter weather advisory will remain in effect through 5 p.m. on Friday.
Weather tonight: Clear and cool
Skies continue to clear overnight with lighter winds. Low temperatures on Friday night will dip into the lower 20s.
Looking ahead: Weekend warming
Temperatures will climb quickly over the weekend with abundant sunshine.
Highs on Saturday will make it into the middle 50s, and Denver could get into the low 60s by Sunday.
Monday is just as comfortable with mostly sunny skies and highs in the middle 60s. Tuesday stays above average with highs in the low 60s and plenty of sunshine.
Wednesday will have clouds increasing throughout the day with highs in the low 50s. Rain is possible later in the day, before turning into snow overnight.
Snow looks to linger through Thursday with falling temperatures. Highs near midnight will be in the low 40s. This could bring some decent snowfall totals to the Front Range.
