Violent night in the city has Denver police responding to three shootings, one stabbing

Denver police are coming off a violent night in the city, responding to three shootings and a stabbing Thursday night and early Friday morning.

The first incident was reported shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, with an investigation of a stabbing in the 2200 block of Lawrence Street. One person was transported to the hospital but no further information is available about the extent of injuries. No arrest has been made in the incident.

Just before 1 a.m. Friday, Denver police posted on Twitter about a shooting at East Colfax Avenue and Yosemite Street, from which a person transported themselves to the hospital.

That was followed an hour later by reports of a shooting at East Dakota Avenue and Broadway. Police said a victim was located and transported to a hospital. Broadway was shut down at Alameda Avenue.

No additional information was provided about either victim or suspects in the shootings.

Lastly, at 6 a.m. Friday, Denver police were investigating a shooting in the 1800 block of South Sheridan Boulevard. A victim was taken to the hospital but no further information was available as to their condition.

The violence Thursday and Friday follows a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning near the 2200 block of Welton Street. A person in that incident was taken to a hospital and died later Wednesday morning, police said.
