DENVER (KDVR) — After the first day to hit 70 degrees or warmer in Denver since December, Denver’s weather will stay sunny, warm and breezy before a chance for showers moves in.

Weather tonight: Mainly clear

Wednesday night will stay mainly clear. Low temperatures will fall to the mid to upper 30s, which is about 5 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, warm

Sunshine dominates the forecast again on Thursday. This, plus a south-southwesterly breeze, will help bring temperatures back up to the mid-70s, which is 10-15 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Looking ahead: Sunny end to the week, weekend showers

Friday will be sunny, warm and breezy.

High temperatures will climb up to the mid-70s during the Colorado Rockies home opener. It will be a breezy day with gusts up to around 40 mph.

A strong breeze plus dry conditions will raise fire concerns on Friday. Because of this, most of Eastern Colorado has fire weather watches and warnings set to go into effect Friday.

Friday night, snow showers will start in the mountains. These showers will push into the Denver metro and across the Front Range as rain showers by Saturday.

Alongside showers, much cooler temperatures move in for the weekend and start of next week.
