Denver weather: Sunny and very warm to wrap up the weekend

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather continues with warm and dry air on Sunday. There will be highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s, and Denver could see its first 80-degree day of the year.
Weather today: Sunny skies
Sunny skies dominate the area Sunday, which will help high temperatures climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s. This is around 15-20 degrees above average for this time of the year. While it is very warm, the Pinpoint Weather Team isn’t forecasting temps high enough to break the record of 83 degrees set back in 1963.
While it will certainly be a great day to spend time outdoors, there is still a Red Flag warning in effect through 8 p.m. Sunday for the areas in hot pink. Outdoor burning is not a good idea on a day like today!
Weather tonight: Mostly clear and breezy
Clear skies continue into the evening as overnight low temperatures will drop into the middle to upper 40s. Winds will be gusty at times, up to 30 mph.
Looking ahead: Rain returns to the forecast
Monday will kick off with dry and breezy conditions as winds will continue to gust up to 30 mph at times. Clouds move into Denver in the afternoon, knocking temperatures down into the 70s.
The mountains will see some snow on Monday, which will transition into rain in the night as it trickles off the mountains and pushes into Denver.
Rain showers will continue Tuesday alongside cooler, more seasonal high temperatures in the 60s. Showers will wrap up Tuesday night, but another round of showers will move in by the end of the week thanks to a system that will also knock down temperatures.
