Dodge has announced that the Hellephant C170 engine that powers the Challenger SRT Demon 170 will go on sale next year.
The Hellephant C170 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Long Block will be available for $18,995. This beast of an engine develops 1025 hp and 945 lb-ft of torque when running on E85.
For $27,695, Dodge will sell the fully assembled Hellephant C170 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI engine. It comes with a 3.0L IHI supercharger with an improved intercooler, a 3.02-inch pulley, and a 105 mm throttle body with new housing, blade, shaft and geartrain, among other upgrades.
Some of the other crate engine offerings from Dodge with more modest power outputs include the Hellcrate 6.2L Supercharged Crate HEMI Long Block, producing 717 hp and 656 lb-ft, and the Hellcrate Redye with 807 hp and 717 lb-ft of torque. These are priced at $9,495 and $12,995, respectively.
