Regional police have released an image of a suspect they’re looking for in connection with a homicide Aug.13 in downtown Kitchener, Ont.
Police say suspect is known to frequent the plaza located at 91 Queen St.
Regional police have released an image of a suspect they’re looking for in connection with a homicide Sunday in downtown Kitchener, Ont.
Police responded to the area of Queen Street and Charles Street after receiving reports of shots fired outside a business at approximately 10:20 p.m. ET.
Officers found an 18-year-old Kitchener man with gunshot injuries. Police said he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Flowers and several posters with messages of love and condolences were placed at the plaza where the shooting happened.
Police said the suspect was last seen running on Queen Street South toward Joseph Street, and added the suspect is known to frequent the plaza at 91 Queen St.
The investigation is ongoing by regional police’s major crimes unit, general investigations and forensic identification units.
