Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler surprised everyone with his unique look during the Media Day ahead of the current NBA season.
Now, that look–thick eyeliner and straightened hair covering half of his face in what could best described as emo– has also been immortalized in a music video.
Butler’s alter ego made an appearance in Fall Out Boy’s music video for the song “So Much (For) Stardust” released on Thursday.

Butler rocked a purple bedazzled cowboy outfit that he perfectly paired with a purple cowboy. He bobbed his head, lip-synched to Patrick Stump’s voice, and danced and shimmied along with Pete Wentz, the only Fall Out Boy member to appear in the video.
“@falloutboy X emo jimmy. Does the world want emo jimmy back?” said the NBA forward in an Instagram post.
“Emo Jimmy” first appeared in October last year when he attended his first official day of work day of the NBA season with his fingers painted black, piercings on his eye, lip, and nose along with the quirky hairstyle.
His headshots for the season–which are used during broadcasts–are from that media day.
“I’m very emotional right now. This is my emo state and I like this. This is me,” Butler said during the Media Day. “This is how I’m feeling as of late.”

Butler is coming off a one-game suspension for his role in the altercation in the Heat’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
He returned to action on Wednesday, scoring 22 points to fuel Miami’s 106-96 win over Portland Trail Blazers.
The Heat, who lost to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals last year after an impressive run to the playoffs despite being the No. 8 seed, have now won third straight since the All-Star Break.
