Work continues on the facelifted Hyundai i30 Fastback N as a prototype has been spied testing on the Nürburgring.

Caught alongside the current model, the Fastback N appears primed for a light freshening as the car closely echoes its predecessor. Despite the similarities, there are a handful of updates including a revised grille and what appears to be new headlight graphics.

The minor changes continue further back as it looks like the car could be equipped with sportier side skirts. While there isn’t much to see at the rear, it appears the i30 will have updated taillights. Additional changes are possible and updated bumpers could be hiding beneath the camouflage.

Spy photographers haven’t gotten a good look inside, but previous prototypes have been spotted with interior coverings. This suggests the company could modernize the cabin, but that remains to be seen.

Under the hood, we can expect to find a familiar 2.0-liter turbo engine developing 276 hp (206 kW / 280 PS) and 289 lb-ft (392 Nm) of torque. It should be paired to a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. This setup enables the current model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
