[ad_1]
Big updates for an already great truck.
Though not completely redesigned since 2009, the Ram 1500 pickup truck has been updated a number of times since introduction, and will be again refreshed for the 2025 model year. Among the many updates on the docket for the popular half-ton truck are fresh styling, an updated cabin, a new top trim level, a new extended-range electric variant, an all-new engine, and new premium audio system.

First Look: 2025 Ram 1500
Already on the schedule is the electric RAM Rev electric pickup, which will debut at about the same time as freshened conventional versions of the Ram hit showrooms.
Here’s a quick look at what’s in store for the Ram 1500 for 2025:
Fresh Styling
Ram 1500 gets a contemporary workover for the 2025 model year, including new grilles with updated LED headlamps, new trim, and updated wheel offerings. Big changes are will also be found in the cabin.

Updated Cabin
Ram already does pickup cabins better than any other truck maker, so we have big expectation for the 2025 update. In addition to updated trim, the ’25 will be outfitted with Uconnect 5, the latest version of Stellantis’ infotainment system. Also available is Hands-free Driving Assist, a semi-autonomous driving system which should rival General Motor’s Super Cruise, and Ford Blue Cruise systems. A new premium audio system is also available (see below).

New Top Trim Level
An all-new, ultra-premium Tungsten model joins the 2025 Ram 1500 lineup that also includes the base Tradesman, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trim levels. With the already posh Limited now the penultimate Ram, we expect Tungsten to rival luxury brands in terms of cabin materials and feature content. We also expect to see prices closing in on $100,000 when fully equipped. Note: Perhaps a nod to its premium status, the Tungsten is not equipped with an exposed front bumper, but instead enjoys the stylistic benefit of a fully painted front clip. All-New Engine
Already available in the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, the Hurricane inline 6-cylinder engine takes the place of the 5.7-liter “Hemi” V8 under the hood of 1500 Rams. The 3.0-liter twin turbocharged six produces 420 horsepower in standard tune, and 540 in High Output (HO) applications. The outgoing 5.7-liter V8 was rated at 395 horsepower. The new Hurricane engines are expected to return improved fuel economy and better overall performance.
Note that in Jeep applications, the higher-output version of the Hurricane requires more-expensive premium gasoline. The 3.6-liter “Pentastar” V6 remains the base Ram 1500 engine. You can read more about the Hurricane engines here.

New Premium Audio System
We’re not clear on what happens to the excellent McIntosh audio system found in some current Ram applications, but the truck maker is promising an even better sound experience moving forward. Klipsch, the well-established manufacturer of ultra-high-end home audio systems, has lent its name to Ram’s new top-end system, and the specs are impressive. The new Klipsch Reference Premiere installation boasts 23 speakers and more than 1000 watts of power.

CG Says:
Ford and General Motors are also in the process of rolling out updated full-size pickups, but we’d be surprised if those refreshes as substantial as those inline for the Ram. We’re impressed that Ram is finally modernizing its engine lineup, as the Hemi V8 mills—though strong and refined—were among the least fuel efficient in the category.
