2024 Ford Mustang Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

[ad_1]

The Mustang can be had with modest or trackworthy performance, a variety of options, and three engines. We give it a 8 for the plentiful options and standard equipment.

Ford offers the Mustang in coupe and convertible body styles and EcoBoost, GT, and Dark Horse models, each with base and Premium trim.

The price for a base EcoBoost coupe is $32,515 and the convertible costs about $8,000 more, after running about $5,000 more last year. In fact, all models cost more.

Premium trim additions includes aluminum pedals, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, a nine-speaker audio system, wireless smartphone charging, satellite radio, a six-way power driver seat with a four-way power front passenger seat, heated and cooled front seats, a decklid spoiler, and 18-inch wheels. It adds about $5,500 at the base level and less as you move up the lineup. The Mustang has an average warranty of 3 years/36,000 miles.

Which Ford Mustang should I buy?

If you’re going to buy an American pony car, you should go with the V-8. We’d get the GT Premium coupe for about $47,000, and add the $4,995 GT Performance Package and the $1,750 magnetic dampers for a total in excess of $55,000. Additional Premium features over the EcoBoost Premium include 19-inch wheels and bigger brakes. The Performance Package adds a strut-tower brace, a chassis K-brace, heavy-duty front springs, sport suspension tuning with a larger rear sway bar, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential with a 3.73 axle ratio, wider wheels with 255/40 and 275/40 Pirelli P Zero PZ4 tires, a rear wing spoiler, Ford’s new Drift Brake, and a front tow hook.

How much is a fully loaded 2024 Ford Mustang?

The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium starts at about $65,000, and buyers can add the Dark Horse Handling Package for $4,995, Recaro bucket seats for $1,650, and carbon-fiber wheels for $8,995. With those features, the Mustang can top $85,000. Standard Dark Horse features include most of the GT Performance Package equipment, plus magnetic dampers, stiffer springs, wider wheels, additional cooling, a fixed rear wing, lower side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The Handling Package makes the springs even stiffer, and adds a stiffer rear stabilizer bar, even wider wheels, wider and stickier 305/30 front and 315/30 rear Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, adjustable front strut top mounts, two front tow hooks, and a bigger rear wing with a Gurney flap.
