Tata recently launched the facelift versions of the Harrier and Safari in the market. Just like the pre-facelift versions, the 2023 model has also caught buyers’ attention and is doing pretty well. A detailed review of both the Harrier and Safari is available on our website and YouTube channel. Deliveries for both these SUVs have already started, and we now have images of a Tata Safari that was recently bought by Shantanu Naidu – Mr. Ratan Tata’s Manager and also the founder of Goodfellows. Not only that, Ratan Tata himself was seen checking out Shantanu’s new SUV in pictures.

You might have seen Shantanu Naidu with Ratan Tata on several occasions. Shantanu Naidu is a general manager working at Ratan Tata’s office, and in 2022, he started Goodfellows – a Ratan Tata-funded startup that provides companionship to senior citizens through young, educated graduates. Shantanu Naidu bought his Tata Safari during Dussehra this year. Before this, he was using a Tata Nano, and Shantanu has actually shared his experience of owning the Safari on Team-Bhp recently.

Shantanu has bought the Accomplished Plus top-end variant of the Safari, and he was also one of the first persons to own the Safari facelift. He went with the white shade and has covered almost 1,000 km in the car. He has even named his SUV Yuki. As per Shantanu, the design of the Safari facelift is what attracted him the most. For him, it is one of those SUVs that he would turn around and look at twice after parking it. He even mentions that, for him, it is the equivalent of an Indian Discovery. He wanted a car that was different from the ones already available in the market.

He liked how the SUV performs on highways. It offers a comfortable ride and eats up miles without any issues. As his previous car was a Nano, the Safari is a huge jump from it, and there is a lot of power at his disposal, and he is still getting used to the size of the SUV. He found the Sport mode extremely aggressive in the Safari, and the 19-inch alloy wheels give it a unique look on the road. He likes to travel with his dogs, and for this, he opted for the bench seat version in the second row. He also appreciates electrically adjustable seats, ventilated seats, ADAS, and adjustable steering function.

While he finds the SUV overall impressive, there are things that he feels need improvement. The gloss black interior of the SUV is prone to getting a lot of scratches, and in order to avoid it, he has got all those panels wrapped in PPF. He also finds some of the ADAS features and notification sounds annoying and has turned them off. The front grille of the Safari does look very aggressive; however, the small gaps make it extremely difficult to clean.

In the pictures that Shantanu has shared online, we can see him posing with the SUV. In one of the images, we can see Mr. Ratan Tata himself checking out the interior of Shantanu’s new Safari. Ratan Tata also owns a couple of Tata cars like the Indigo Marina, Tata Nano EV (custom made), and Tata Nexon type 1 in his garage. The all-new Safari is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 170 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The price for a brand new Tata Safari starts at Rs 16.19 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 27.34 lakh, ex-showroom.
