Housing migrants on Randall’s: Letters to the Editor — Aug. 23, 2023

The Issue: The state’s use of Randall’s Island and Floyd Bennett Field to house migrants.
How can Gov. Hochul and her cronies justify taking $20 million per month (not per year) out of taxpayers’ pockets for the “complex” on Randall’s Island (“Kick off,” Aug. 21)?
Where are the checks and balances during this fiasco? When will this mugging of taxpayers end?

The “migrant” crisis in New York City and the tragic wildfires on Maui have a few things in common: They’re in deep-blue states, their awful circumstances have no political upside for Democrats and, at the highest government levels, they are being ignored by Dem politicians.
Where have New York Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand been while more than 100,000 mostly unvetted border-crossers have flooded the Big Apple?
Finally, we have the party’s “leader,” hardhearted President Biden, mumbling uncaring comments between vacations.
Why are Democrats paying so little attention to the horrific plight of their loyal constituents? Because they can.
Pols figure those poor, suffering peons can be treated like rented mules and they’ll still vote blue. So far, the cynical Dems have been right.

Hochul is allowing 2,500 illegals into a large area, Floyd Bennett Field, that is surrounded by large communities of hard-working families with children.
Can she personally vouch for all these illegals as fine, upstanding people? Did she check to see if each one was vetted before she lets them roam around our neighborhoods? Absolutely not. She knows nothing about them.
Take them up to Albany — or, better yet, grow a pair and just say “no” to allowing any more illegal immigrants into our state.
Say “No more room at the inn.” And: “Go somewhere else.” Then close our state’s borders. Hochul and the mayor need to be ousted before our great state is in the toilet.

New York City should take away all public golf courses to build tent cities. Keep reducing fun spaces and activities for New Yorkers. There is so much space and money in New York City that they don’t know what to do with it all.
The bleeding-heart liberals love illegal immigrants.

It’s time for the state Legislature to immediately remove New York City’s sanctuary-city status.
Mayor Adams must be proactive in turning around these buses of immigrants and sending them to Delaware.
To turn the city’s soccer fields and baseball diamonds into tent cities is morally wrong. Our kids deserve a mayor who would fight for them.
This is all on Biden. What sane person wants open borders?

You can solve some of the migrant housing problem in New York City by sending a few busloads to Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.
I heard it’s really nice in Rehoboth this time of year. It’s coming to the end of the summer season, so there will be a significant amount of housing opening up.
Why stop there? A couple of busloads at the White House would have a nice effect. It would also give Biden an idea of the problems he created.
Don’t play nice, because he certainly isn’t.

Hey, New York, are you tired of dealing with these illegal aliens?
Tired of the cost? There is a simple solution. Send them back to Mexico. They got into my country illegally. Send them back.

The Biden-Harris administration is deliberately overwhelming the system to collapse it.
The administration doesn’t care what the open border is doing to border communities and medium and large cities far from the border.
