Human remains have been found in a field about 10 kilometres west of Killarney, Man.

Mounties responded to a report of discovered human remains at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP said in a statement Wednesday.

They were told workers were excavating gravel in a field off Highway 3 and Road 105 W when the remains were found.

An anthropology team and RCMP forensic identifications services are searching the area.

The identity of the remains is not yet known.
