Iceland volcanic eruption could last months warn experts

Residents in the Icelandic capital Rekyajik have been warned of the risk of gas pollution – after a large volcano erupted in the southwest of the country.
Molten lava and smoke were sent more than 500 feet into the sky after weeks of earthquake activity in the area. Thousands of people living in the nearest town had already been evacuated as a precaution – while experts warned the eruption could last months.
