iPhone fans rave over ‘death of voicemail’ as free trick writes message out

IPHONE users have just been informed of a clever new feature that has dropped with iOS 17.
Earlier this week, Apple rolled out the latest operating software for the iPhone: the iOS 17.
With the update came several new handy tools that level up the iPhone experience.
One such tool includes Live Voicemail, which social media users are already calling a game changer.
WHAT IS LIVE VOICEMAIL?
Live Voicemail in iOS 17 lets users view a real-time transcription of the message someone is leaving you as they speak, Apple explains.
This gives users immediate context for the call and lets them decide if they want to pick up the call or ignore it.
“iOS 17 Live Voicemail has already helped catch & block my first of many spam calls,” one social media user said on X, formerly Twitter.
“This might be the underrated feature of iOS 17,” they added.
“
HOW TO ENABLE THIS FEATURE
To access the new tool, you will first need to update your iPhone to iOS 17.
If you’re interested in updating, go to Settings and then tap on General.
From there, click on Software Update > Automatic Updates.
Turn on Download iOS Updates and Install iOS Updates.
Once you have updated, you can find the new feature in the Settings app.
Open Settings > tap Phone > select Live Voicemail > turn it on or off.
In iOS 17 and later, Live Voicemail is on by default.
“When Live Voicemail is on, your phone picks up incoming calls to capture the caller’s voicemail for you to see in real-time,” Apple said.
“Standard calling rates may apply. The caller can’t hear you and you can’t hear them unless you answer the call,” the tech giant continued.
