LAPU-LAPU CITY—Anyang Jung Kwan Jang’s Jamil Wilson described his time with Converge as a “wonderful experience” despite the struggles they endured in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Wilson is back in the country for the second time since playing the last six games of the FiberXers’ dismal campaign in the season-opening conference, this time with the Red Boosters in the East Asia Super League.

“We were a young team, and we had a lot of learning curves as a team as the [conference] progressed,” Wilson said when asked of his time with Converge.

“We just didn’t have enough experience to close out certain games, but I think we fought at the end of the day.”

The FiberXers went 1-10 in the Commissioner’s Cup, with Wilson responsible for the lone win which came at the expense of the Terrafirma Dyip.

He averaged 28.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in six games with the FiberXers and had a 50-point output in a loss to the NLEX Road Warriors on Jan. 10.

But Converge couldn’t come up with victories and missed the quarterfinals for the first time since entering the league in 2022.

It didn’t take long for Wilson to have another gig as he immediately signed with Anyang following Converge’s exit.

He was in Metro Manila last January when Anyang defeated TNT during the EASL group stage at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
