After a traumatic accident last year, Marvel’s Jeremy Renner is on the road to recovery and says he has his daughter Ava Berlin to thank.

The 52-year-old Hawkeye actor posted a sweet picture hugging his 10-year-old daughter and called her his ‘number one reason’ for getting better after the near-fatal incident.

He was airlifted to hospital on New Year’s Day 2023 after his seven-tonne snow plough hit him and pulled him under the vehicle, resulting in a huge 30 broken bones.

Jeremy has undergone a long list of treatments but in his caption on the Instagram post wrote: ‘Reason number one for my recovery is her. I asked her to “wait for me” when I first saw her January 14 as I arrived home.

‘As I got better, she got better, less afraid. There is simply no better motivator to recover than to heal your family and friends….

‘With gratitude always , thank you all for your love and support this last full year. I needed every ounce of goodwill and prayer 🙏🏼.’

Along with singing his daughter’s praises, the actor announced his new EP – called Love and Titanium – would be released on January 19th.

While on CNN, Jeremy reflected on a year of recovery and shared similar sentiments about how his family had saved him.

‘I’m just so blessed that I have so many things to live for,’ the Hurt Locker actor said.

‘I have a giant family, I have a 10-year-old daughter, I would’ve disappointed and really messed up a lot of people’s lives if I would’ve passed, and so there’s a lot for me to get better for.’

At the time of the incident, his nephew had been trying to free his car from the snow when the plough began to roll down the hill.

He admitted he is ‘pretty stubborn’ and had a lot of ‘fight’ in him with no other option on his mind.

Jeremy continued: ‘My recovery became relief for me, because I knew I could give relief to my family, my daughter and to all those that I really affected, and my poor nephew, who was there with me on that day.

‘I gave him images that he can never unsee, but I know that my healing would be healing for him. With that, I never thought about my own physical ailments, my own pain, or my own anguish.’
