Indian highways are regarded as one of the most dangerous roads in the world. We have seen numerous examples in the past of the same. Here is one more that shows why one should be extra cautious while driving on Indian roads.
The video by Chirag Prabhu shows the footage from the helmet of the rider of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R. In the video, you can see the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R doing well above 100 km/h on a highway. The footage then shows a Royal Enfield rider on the left shoulder of the road.

While the Royal Enfield rider must have spotted the Ninja ZX10R, it is possible that he did not anticipate such a high speed of the motorcycle. The Bullet rider then proceeds to cross the road. The rider of the Ninja ZX10R sees the Royal Enfield uses the horn and applies the brakes.
However, since the bike’s speed was already very high at about 110 km/h, the bike did not stop in time. The Bullet rider, meanwhile, froze and stopped right in the middle of the road. The Ninja then crashed into the Bullet’s front tyre, causing an accident.
The rider of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R then says that it became a horrific incident since the crash as locals gathered and started to threaten the riders on the superbikes. They accused the rider of being drunk and called everyone to beat them up. However, they reached a settlement after which the riders left from the spot. The video shows why it is so dangerous to ride or drive at such a high speed on Indian roads.
Common on Indian roads
In India, it is quite common to encounter stray animals, cattle, and pedestrians crossing the road. Additionally, there are vehicles that disregard traffic rules by driving on the wrong side or neglecting to use indicators while turning. Therefore, it is crucial to adhere to safe speed limits on Indian roads to ensure control during emergency situations.
Since there is no established concept of right-of-way in India, it is advisable to reduce speed when approaching road crossings. Similarly, when traveling on highways, it is wise to decrease speed when passing through populated areas like cities and villages. Even though there are designated pedestrian crossings, many people choose not to use them and instead wander along the highways in an attempt to save time. These areas also have a higher likelihood of encountering stray animals and cattle.
Maintaining a safe speed on highways is always recommended. It is also common to come across incidents where locals ride on the wrong side of the road, particularly near settlements or in close proximity to cities and villages along the highways.
