The Uruguayan professional footballer, Luis Suarez announced that he will be joining the Major League Soccer (MLS) club, Inter Miami.
Suarez, who will turn 37 next month, signed a contract that will keep him in the MLS until the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.
Suarez signed a free move with Inter Miami after parting ways with Grêmio FBPA of Brazil last month. In 53 games with the Porto Alegre club throughout every competition, he scored 26 goals, and in 2023, he was named the best player in Brazil’s Serie A, claiming the Golden Ball Award.
Suarez will play alongside his former FC Barcelona companions Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi. During their six-year tenure at the Camp Nou, the quintet won four LALIGA championships and a UEFA Champions League in 2015.
Inter Miami, co-owned by former legendary England captain David Beckham, will kick off their 2024 MLS season on February 21 at home against Real Salt Lake.
