ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Another Albany landmark movie theater will be closing its doors. The Madison Theatre said its last showing will be on Feb. 25.
The announcement was made on the theatre’s Facebook page. The post did not give a reason for the closure. The Spectrum Landmark Movie Complex on Delaware Avenue will also be closing on Feb. 22.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan released a statement saying she believes the Madison Theatre will reopen. She said in-part, “Leaders lead. They don’t wring their hands and fearmonger, which is why I will continue working with Trinity Realty and the businesses along Upper Madison Avenue to ensure this Pine Hills gem is sold to its next great steward.”
