[ad_1]

The sub-compact SUV segment in India is one of the most fiercely competitive segments. This segment has some of the best-selling vehicles, and competing in it is no joke. Recently, in an attempt to further disrupt this segment, it has been found that Mahindra Automotive is working on a facelift of its popular XUV300. Just a few days ago, another test mule of this SUV, completely camouflaged, has been spotted testing on the roads. The new test mule reveals a lot of new design details of this upcoming SUV.

New test mule of the XUV300 facelift spotted

The video of the newly spotted test mule of the Mahindra XUV300 comes courtesy of Carwale and Supercars and Bikes Jammu on YouTube. From the video, the first thing that we can note is that this particular test mule was spotted wearing body-hugging camouflage. The previous test mule, which was spotted, had a white cover on the front and rear, which did not reveal as many details as this new test mule.

Exterior Updates – Front and Side

Starting at the front, we can observe that the new XUV300 will be getting a completely new front fascia. This newly designed front end will tie in the XUV300 with the XUV700 and the upcoming Mahindra BE.05 EV SUV. The headlights will feature an LED setup along with projector headlamps and long LED DRLs like the above-mentioned flagship SUVs from the brand.

The video also shows that the bonnet of the upcoming SUV has been updated with two louvers on either side. The front grille has been completely covered; however, we can note that the lower grille will get a much more modern-looking appearance. Moving on to the side profile, we can note that the XUV300 facelift will come equipped with a brand new set of radial design 5-spoke alloy wheels. From the previous test mule, it was noted that the side profile will mostly remain the same as the outgoing model.

Rear Updates

Moving on to the rear-end design of the new Mahindra XUV300, a ton of new changes can be noted. First off, the major change on the rear is the addition of a new tailgate design. With this new tailgate, the XUV300 facelift will be getting a set of brand new LED taillights which will now come connected. The connected taillights have become a signature offering of the growing sub-compact SUV segment. Apart from this, the rear bumper has been squared off a bit as well. The test mule spotted had a rear wiper and washer along with a defogger as well.

This particular video did not show the interior of the new SUV; however, the previous test mule did show the updates. From the last test mule, it was noted that the entire dashboard has been changed. Other notable highlights from the interior were that it will get all-new air conditioning vents with chrome surrounds and a larger touchscreen infotainment display. Additionally, it has also been reported that the company could also be offering the new XUV300 with a panoramic sunroof. If the company does offer it, then it will become the first car in the sub-compact SUV segment to come with this feature.

Powertrain

As mentioned with the last test mule spotting, information on the powertrain side of things is very scarce. Most likely, the company will not be offering any new engine options and will continue with the outgoing model’s powertrains. Currently, the company offers the XUV300 with three engine options. The first is a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 108.62 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. Next up is a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine that produces 115.05 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. Lastly, there is a more performance-oriented 1.2-liter turbo-petrol TurboSport variant which produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm of torque.
