Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is one of the biggest breakthroughs in the automotive industry. This safety suite includes a ton of different features that help drivers have a stress-free driving experience. However, this safety/convenience feature, which we have in some popular Indian cars, is getting used and abused by stupid people to make viral videos. There have been many instances of people doing stupid stuff while ADAS is working, and once again, another video of a person stretching his legs while ADAS drives the car has been shared online.

The video of this foolish act has been shared on Instagram by Sahil Khan on their page. In this video that has been captioned “Automatic car,” we can see the driver has fully stretched out his legs on the left passenger side dashboard and has kept his hands on his head while the Mahindra XUV700 drives itself with ADAS. Meanwhile, the person on the passenger seat can be seen terrified with this act. He was asking the driver to look at the road and drive normally. However, the driver can be seen continuing his dangerous and dumb act for a small viral video.

What could have gone wrong?

Any person watching this video would know the dangers of performing such acts. Now although from the video, we can see that the highway on which it was done was empty, things can appear out of nowhere, and the car with its ADAS could use the emergency brake at any time. This would result in the driver with his legs fully stretched to end up with significant injuries. Apart from this, if the vehicle crashed into something, the airbags would deploy, and because of not being in the proper seating position, the driver’s life could also get compromised.

Why do people make such videos?

It is most likely not the case that the driver does not know all of the above-mentioned dangers of doing such stunts on public roads. However, despite knowing all of the potential risks, they still perform them because of the sole reason to get popular. People create these types of videos to go viral on popular social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube along with others. All of this is done in pursuit of accumulating likes, comments, followers, and subscribers. However, once in a while, things do get ugly while making such stunting videos. But other people still don’t learn the lesson and continue to do such acts.

Not the first time this type of act has been done

The Mahindra XUV700 was launched back in 2021, and it was one of the first cars in India to offer ADAS features. Soon after its launch, videos of people using this vehicle to do similar stunts started flooding the internet. Prior to this video, another video of a driver of an XUV700 using and abusing ADAS was shared. In this particular video, which was even more dangerous than the current one, the car was driving itself, and no one was sitting on the front two seats of the car. This act was even more dangerous than the video that has recently been shared.
