Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Grand Vitara waiting periods shorten

Maruti Suzuki has had a terrific run this year. The biggest car manufacturer in India was already leading the market share, though competitors catching up with new models in compact and midsize SUV segments reduced the percentage of the share. However, Maruti Suzuki bounced back by launching all-new two key models in the compact SUV space, Fronx and Jimny. At the same time, it increased the production of two of its best-sellers, the Brezza compact SUV and Grand Vitara midsize SUV.
The arrival of two new models in the hotly-contested space and increasing production numbers of its already existing models helped Maruti Suzuki pull more customers back to its showrooms. The Fronx arrived in a segment which was already overcrowded with popular-selling models like Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue. However, with its unique coupe-like styling and tried-and-tested after-sales experience, the Fronx managed to climb up in the sales charts as soon as it went on sale, with it being a consistent member of the top ten selling cars in India.
Then came the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which is also gradually finding new buyers with its unique positioning in the market. Maruti Suzuki was already riding high on the success of Brezza and Grand Vitara, two of its all-new models which were launched in 2022. However, both of them were commanding high waiting periods, which encouraged the carmaker to increase their production.
The increase in production helped Maruti Suzuki bring down the waiting periods of these two models, thus enabling them to find more new homes than ever before. With the increase in production, Maruti Suzuki has managed to bring down the waiting period of Grand Vitara from 5 months to 2.5 months. Both Brezza and Fronx are now commanding a waiting period, which was earlier 3.5-4.5 months.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki is managing 14,000-15,000 units of Brezza, 12,000-13,000 units of Grand Vitara, 13,000-14,000 units of Fronx and around 3,000-4,000 units of Jimny every month. With the ongoing year-end benefits offered on these four models, Maruti Suzuki expects these monthly sales figures to go up this month.
With all these four SUV models, Maruti Suzuki is averaging around 45,000 units, which gives it a market share of 22.5 per cent, making it the market leader in the SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki currently holds an overall market share of 43.2 per cent, and with a potential increase in the sales of its entire SUV range, it hopes to achieve a market share of over 50 per cent in the coming months.
Discounts on Maruti Suzuki Jimny
Maruti Suzuki has been offering enticing discounts and benefits on the popular Jimny SUV for several months now. During Diwali, the company offered a discount of approximately Rs 1 lakh on the Jimny. However, they have now taken it a step further by offering a discount of Rs 2 lakh on the entry-level variant for a limited period. This means that the starting price of the Jimny Zeta MT has been reduced to Rs 10.74 lakh from the original Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
With this significant price reduction, the Jimny becomes a much more affordable option compared to its competitors. In fact, at this price point, the Jimny is almost Rs 4 lakh cheaper than the base model Thar petrol 4WD MT with a Hard top. This makes the Jimny an attractive proposition for budget-conscious buyers who desire a capable and stylish SUV.
