The country’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, is working on the development of its first all-electric SUV. This new EV SUV will be called the eVX, and it will be launched later this year. Recently, the upcoming eVX was spotted testing on public roads, and a number of new details about this all-electric SUV from the brand have been shared online. The video of this SUVs test mule shows it from all directions, revealing new details.
This video of the Maruti Suzuki eVX being tested on Indian roads has been shared on YouTube by 91 Wheels on their channel. It starts off with the SUV standing at a traffic signal. It can be noted that the test mule of the SUV was finished in black color, and to cover its crucial design details, heavy black camouflage was also seen on this test mule.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Exterior Design
Coming to the exterior details of the upcoming eVX, as we have previously seen, this test mule was also seen with a similar front fascia. It will get a bold front end with a proper SUV-like fascia. It looks similar to that of the Honda Elevate; however, the eVX looks a lot sharper and aggressive.
It will get a set of LED headlights with DRLs, but this particular test mule was spotted with halogen projector headlights. The front grille will be closed off like typical EVs, but it will get vents on the lower section of the front bumper. The overall front end looks boxy yet sharp at the same time.
Coming to the side profile of the eVX, it was noted that it will get its charging port on the front left fender. This is a unique placement which confirms that the test mule was of the eVX all-electric SUV. Additionally, the SUV will also get Swift-like rear door handles. They will be hidden in the D-pillar. Also, it will get 17-inch multispoke alloy wheels as well.
Moving to the rear section, it will get a sort of coupe-like rear end. However, it will not be as aggressive as the upcoming Tata Curvv coupe SUV or the Citroen Basalt. It has also been stated that it will come with a connecting LED light bar in the rear.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Interior details
As for the interior, not much was observed as the test mule was spotted on the road. However, it has been reported that it will boast a bigger and unique cabin than the Grand Vitara. It will get a dashboard layout with a bigger touchscreen infotainment screen and new automatic climate control buttons.
It will most likely come with connected car technology and a digital instrument gauge cluster as well. Additionally, it has been reported that the company was also testing ADAS with this new SUV. The camera for the ADAS was placed just behind the IRVM.
Maruti Suzuki eVX: Powertrain
In terms of the powertrain of this electric SUV, it could be offered with two different battery packs. The first will be a 45 kWh, and the other could be a 60 kWh battery pack. It might also get single or dual motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations.
The 60 kWh configuration is expected to deliver a claimed range of 550 Km. The eVX will be officially launched in India by the end of 2024. As for the pricing, it is being speculated that Maruti could launch it with a price tag under Rs. 25 lakh.
