McDonald’s fans shocked to learn what sweet and sour sauce is really made from

McDonald’s fans have been left gobsmacked after learning what goes into sweet and sour sauce.
That is, despite the fact the ‘shocking revelation’ has been uncovered numerous times before.
It’s been a hot topic recently after two Australian radio hosts, Jase and Lauren, revealed what the popular dip is made from.
Host Lauren explained that the sauce is actually made up of a certain fruit.
‘Would you believe it is actually… apricot flavour?’ she said on her show.
According to the McDonald’s UK website, one of the key components in the sauce is apricot puree. Other unexpected ingredients also include soy sauce, spices, dried red bell pepper, and caramelised sugar syrup.
The McDonald’s website even describes it as ‘a sweet/sour apricot flavour, lightly spiced with a sour aftertaste.’
Nevertheless, it’s safe to say this fruity news has rocked McDonald’s fans – including the co-host of the radio show.
‘I hate apricot… I can taste the apricot now,’ Jase said, while throwing a half-eaten chicken nugget away.
However, hardcore McDonald’s fans are questioning why people are only finding out about this now.
‘Sweet n Sour is essentially apricot jam and white vinegar,’ someone explained.
This news follows on from Maccies fans uncovering what the buttons on fast food chain’s drinks lids are for.
In other shock revelations, Greggs fanatics have joked ‘Christmas is cancelled’ after a beloved bake has been axed from the menu.
