McKenna Wins Championship Manager of Season at 2024 EFL Awards

Ipswich manager, Kieran McKenna won Championship Manager of the 2023-24 Season at 2024 EFL Awards.
McKenna’s triumph came after he led Ipswich up from League One last season and immediately guided them to the cusp of a second consecutive promotion, which would see the Tractor Boys back in the top-flight for the first time since 2001-02 if can win their final three games.
Leeds’ Daniel Farke and Hull’s Liam Rosenior also were on the three-man shortlist for the Championship Manager of the Season.
Crysencio Summerville was crowned Championship Player of the Season after the 22 year-old delivered 18 goals and nine assists in all competitions for Leeds this season.
Leeds’ Archie Gray picked up two gongs as he was crowned Championship’s Young Player and Apprentice of the season, following a progressive campaign with two assists in 40 appearances.
Peterborough’s Harrison Burrows was voted League One Player of the Season after he led his team to the Bristol Street Motors trophy, whilst he scored seven goals and created 13 assists in all competitions for the Posh.
Burrows’ teammate, Ronnie Edwards meanwhile was crowned League One Young Player of the Season, with two goals in 41 league appearances.
Portsmouth’s John Mousinho won League One’s Manager of the Season award after he led the Pompey to the cusp of promotion, with the club needing just one more point to guarantee a return to the second tier next season.
Northampton’s Reuben Wyatt claimed the League One Apprentice of the Season award.
Mansfield Town manager, Nigel Clough picked up the League Two Manager of the Season gong, having guided the Stags to the verge of promotion with just one more point needed to secure automatic graduation into League One for next season.
Notts County’s Jodi Jones was crowned League Two’s Player of the Season after he scored five goals and created 24 assists in 39 league appearances.
MK Dons’ Callum Tripp won League Two’s Apprentice of the Season gong, whilst Tranmere’s Rob Apter took home the League Two Young Player of the Season award.
Elsewhere, ex footballer – Paul Stewart received the Contribution to League Football award for his safeguarding work with clubs after he came out in 2016 and revealed that he had been sexually abused during his youth career as a player.
Charlton Athletic was voted Community Club of the Year, whilst Huddersfield won the Diversity Award for their effort to engage with female supporters.
Ipswich’s Wes Burns won Goal of the Season for his strike against Coventry in a 2-1 home win on 2 December 2023.
Ex defender, Luke Chambers received the Sir Tom Finney award for his commitment to EFL throughout his career, which included spells at Northampton Town, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich before he finished his playing days at Colchester. #
