Woman charged in crash that killed Littleton middle school student

Littleton police Friday announced they have charged a woman after she allegedly hit with her car and killed a 13-year-old Littleton middle school student riding a bicycle.
On Friday, police in a post on X identified the boy killed in the Oct. 17 crash as Liam Stewart, 13.

Beth Ann Hutchinson, 39, is the driver who allegedly hit Liam, police said, and is charged with careless driving resulting in death, a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail with a possible fine of up to $1,000.
Emergency responders at 8:04 a.m. Oct. 17 answered a call about a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at South Elati Street and West Arapahoe Drive, the Littleton Police Department said in a news release.
Responders immediately performed life-saving measures, but the bicyclist, identified that day as a student at Euclid Middle School, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened a few blocks from the school. Hutchinson stayed at the scene.
