LIVERMORE — A motorcyclist died Tuesday afternoon in a collision with an SUV, police said.
The motorcyclist’s name was not released as of Tuesday morning, pending confirmation of his identity and notification of his next of kin. Police said he was a Livermore man in his 30s.
The collision happened about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of North Mines Road and Shirley Way.
Police said in a news release that the motorcyclist was going northbound on North Mines Road and a Honda CR-V was heading south.
Police said the Honda was making a left turn onto Shirley Way. Apparently the driver did not see the motorcycle and failed to yield before hitting it.
The motorcycle rider died at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, a Livermore resident in her early 60s, was not hurt, police said. She stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
Police don’t believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
