Nathan Tella reacts to maiden Super Eagles call-up | SportsRation

Bayer Leverkusen winger, Nathan Tella has reacted to earning his maiden Super Eagles of Nigeria call-up for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification games in November.

The Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday, November 9 announced list of 23-players invited for Nigeria’s double-header vs Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

On that list was , Nathan Tella who dumps his country of birth, England to play for his fatherland Nigeria.

In reaction to the maiden call-up, Tella said it was a dream he is looking forward to fulfilling.

It’s a great feeling and a great opportunity for me. As a young boy and a footballer, you dream of representing your own country – and now I finally have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it,” he told Bayer Leverkusen official website.

Tella will be looking to make his debut for the three-time African champions when they confront the Crocodiles of Lesotho and Warriors of Zimbabwe in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next week.

Jose Peseiro will hopefully cap the skillful winger who has made nine appearances this season for German Bundesliga table toppers, Bayer Leverkusen.

Tella will have club teammate Victor Boniface as guide when he arrives the Super Eagles camp for the first time.

The Super Eagles will host Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next Thursday.

They will travel to Zimbabwe three days later for a matchday two fixture.
