No investigation against billionaire Vikas Oberoi for supercar crash, claims his company

The Mumbai-based real estate billionaire, Vikas Oberoi, husband of “Swades” movie actress Gayatri Joshi, was recently reported to be under investigation for a double road homicide. It was stated that Vikas could be jailed for seven years if found guilty in the recent supercar crash that took place in Sardinia, Italy. On further advancement in this case, it has now been reported that at the moment no case has been filed against Vikas Oberoi. Sources close to Vikas have mentioned that he has not been charged with any case.

No charges against Vikas Oberoi

According to CNBC18, a source from Oberoi Realty, the firm owned by Vikas Oberoi, has provided the information. It was stated that Vikas is not being charged for the double road homicide that claimed the life of a Swiss couple following their crash. The source from Oberoi Realty stated, “No charges have been filed against Vikas Oberoi.” This means that at the moment Vikas is not under any investigation regarding the crash that happened between his Lamborghini Huracan Spyder and the Ferrari Portofino convertible that crashed with a motorhome on the narrow road in Sardinia.

Should there be an investigation?

Earlier, we reported that the billionaire real estate mogul was under investigation by Cagliari law authorities in Italy (More on that here). However, this new revelation is a bit confusing. From the video, it was clearly seen that the Ferrari in which the Swiss couple was driving crashed into Vikas Oberoi’s Lamborghini. In general, an accident like this warrants an investigation. But at the moment, it appears that Vikas has not been taken into custody or is under any investigation. How long this will be the case cannot be said.

For those who are unaware of what happened, recently, it was reported that Vikas Oberoi and his wife, Bollywood movie actress Gayatri Joshi, were involved in a supercar crash in Sardinia, Italy. Following their accident, a video capturing the entire incident quickly became viral on the internet. The footage showed a scene in which numerous expensive Lamborghini and Ferrari supercars were traveling on a narrow road on the picturesque island of Sardinia, Italy.

Initially, a group of supercars was seen overtaking a motorhome that was heading in the same direction. Following this, Vikas Oberoi and Gayatri Joshi were also approaching the same motorhome and were driving just behind it. Next, what happens is Vikas Oberoi also attempts to pass the motorhome, but an unfortunate turn of events unfolds as a Ferrari Portofino, driven by a Swiss couple, tries to overtake both the motorhome and the Lamborghini at the same time.

Regrettably, Vikas Oberoi fails to notice the fast-approaching Ferrari, resulting in a collision between his Lamborghini and the Ferrari. The impact was so forceful that it caused the Lamborghini to slam into the rear of the motorhome. In the video footage, it was witnessed that the Lamborghini struck the motorhome with such intensity that it flipped over onto the road. Meanwhile, the Ferrari also collided with the motorhome and flipped over. Tragically, it was later reported that the Swiss couple inside the overturned Ferrari were unable to exit in time, leading to their untimely demise on the road.
