Doma United FC gunned down Akwa United FC 1-0 in a Nigeria Premier Football League clash on Saturday, November 11.
The NPFL week eight clash took place at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe.
Visiting Akwa United FC have struggled for points this season and were held to a goalless draw at home Vs Plateau United FC in week seven.
For Doma United, a 0-3 away win over Gombe United FC on Sunday was followed by a 0-0 draw vs Bendel Insurance in one of their rescheduled matches.
For the only goal of the game, Nelson Abiam volleyed past Akwa United FC goalkeeper, Nurudeen Badmus into the roof of the net in the 18th minute.
Coach Fatai Osho tutored Akwa United FC did struggle to get an equalizer but met stiff resistance from the Doma United defense which provided good cover for goalkeeper Osayi Kingdom who is yet to concede a goal at home this season.
With the result, Doma United FC who have played just six games this season will climb further up the table with ten points while 17th placed Akwa United FC have secured seven points to sit at the wrong end of the standings.
Meanwhile, eight 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 8 games will take place on Sunday, November 12.
At the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars FC will face Enyimba FC while Katsina United FC welcome Rivers United FC.
Kwara United FC will be hosts of Shooting Stars Sports Club in Illorin while Remo Stars and Sunshine Stars face Gombe United and Enugu Rangers respectively in a busy matchday in the Southwest.
The other games will pitch Plateau United FC vs Abia Warriors. Lobi Stars FC Vs Sporting Lagos. Niger Tornadoes Vs Bendel Insurance FC while the game involving Heartland FC and Bayelsa United FC has been moved to Wednesday due to the governorship elections conducted in both state.
All games will kick-off by 4pm.
