Ottawa police are investigating a serious collision in the city’s south end Saturday afternoon involving a car and an OC Transpo bus.
Officers were called to the intersection of Blohm Drive and Hunterswood Crescent around 3 p.m. after getting reports of a collision.
The only person in the car, an adult man, was trapped inside and had to be removed by Ottawa Fire Services.
He was taken to the hospital with “critical life-threatening injuries,” paramedics said.
There were seven passengers on board the OC Transpo bus at the time of the collision, the transit agency said. Two of the passengers and the bus operator sustained minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
There’s a bus stop right by the intersection, which is a three-way stop.
Ottawa police are asking anyone who saw the crash or may have dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them at 613-236-1222 ext. 2345.
Transit services general manager Renée Amilcar said in a note to city councillors on Sunday that OC Transpo is co-operating with the police investigation.
