The Ontario Hockey League has suspended former Owen Sound Attack head coach Greg Walters until June 30, 2024, for an inappropriate altercation he had with another Attack employee, OHL commissioner David Branch announced in a statement Tuesday.

According to the league release, the altercation between Walters and the employee occurred during a game on Oct. 14. The OHL’s investigation found that Walters violated the OHL Code of Conduct by “failing to maintain an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and are free from bullying, harassment or abuse.”

Walters is not allowed to coach or participate in the OHL in any way until June 30, 2024. He will be allowed to seek reinstatement to the OHL for the 2024-25 season by applying in writing to Branch.

The 53-year-old coach was hired as the Attack’s head coach prior to the 2021-22 season.

Walters was fired by the Attack on Oct. 16 and replaced by assistant coaches Darren Rumble and Sean Teakle.
