Will Chopper appear in the second season of One Piece?

Through a video, Eiichiro Oda, creator of the One Piece manga, thanked the fans for having given their trust to the live-action. Hidden behind an illustrated and an animated avatar, the author explained that Netflix asked him to share confirmation that there will be a second season of the show. Likewise, he announced that the crew will need a doctor and made an illustration of Chopper, a fan favorite character that we will see soon:

It seems like everyone has enjoyed the series, which makes the production team’s hard work really worth it. Who is Chopper in One Piece?

As fans of the franchise know, Chopper is a blue-nosed reindeer who ate a Devil Fruit that gave him human form and intellect, as well as the ability to shapeshift. In the source material, he joins the crew led by Luffy (Iñaki Gody) and becomes the team’s doctor. He is a fan favorite and there was great excitement to see if he would appear in the first few episodes.

Although Oda explains that it will take time to create the scripts for the new season, a week ago, one of the producers said that they were already ready and gave a maximum of 18 months between the end of the actors’ strike, which prevents them from filming, and the launch of a second season. So we will have to be aware of the negotiations between the union and the studios.

Without a doubt, the interesting thing will be to see how it adapts to Chopper. So far, we have seen some animals and computer-made creatures in the first episodes. Since the reindeer would be a protagonist, we will have to wait to see if they go for something more photorealistic or if they maintain, for example, the cartoonish appearance of the Den Den Mushi, the snails that are used as telephones in the show. The series stars Mexican Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu and more.

Since One Piece – One Piece: Netflix renews the series for a second season and announces Chopper90% has remained among the most viewed titles of these weeks on Netflix, and since the original material is very extensive, it is not a surprise that the platform clings to it to build an exclusive franchise. It remains to be seen if the lasting passion of manga and anime fans transfers to the live-action version, which at the moment seems to have them satisfied.
