Outrage over controversial ‘female privilege’ list drawn up by men’s rights activists – which claims women are ‘not expected to go to war’ and are taken seriously if they report rape

An American woman has sparked a fierce debate online after stumbling upon a ‘female privilege’ checklist on Reddit.

Cece, who posts under the TikTok handle @dontceceme, decided to share the controversial list – which included ‘getting a lighter punishment for the same crime’ and winning custody of children in divorce cases – with her followers and argue back against each point.

The video has already been seen by more than 320,000 people and has amassed in excess of a thousand comments.

She told her followers: ‘Some men’s rights activists recently found my account and they want to talk about female privilege.

‘Awesome, I went on to their sub-Reddit and found this huge list of why I am privileged – let’s look at it.’

Pulling up a screenshot of the Reddit post, she proceeded to go through some of the points and make a case against them.

The TikToker read: ‘On average, I will get much later punishment for the same crime. There are a lot of factors that go into sentencing and I can’t find clear data on this.

‘Men commit more crime, more violent crime, they’re more likely to re-offend. I don’t know what to tell you.

‘Not everyone commits a crime, but everyone has to go to work, so I’m more concerned about the gender pay gap or whatever.’

The second point is that: ‘PMS is usually considered an extenuating circumstance’.

Cece responded: ‘Go up to an adult human woman and tell her that you think she’s privileged because she gets a period. Go ahead, try it, good luck.’

She continued: ‘Number three,  I’m not expected to go to war or even get drafted into the army. Neither are you, the draft has not been used in 50 years.

‘And it was created by a man in the 19th century, when the government was full of men because no woman had ever been elected and women couldn’t even vote.’

She went on to brand number six and number seven, which claim women’s words have ‘more weight’ when it comes to sex-related crimes including rape, as ‘borderline delusional and offensive’.

Continuing, the American read: ‘Number eight, I can look at children for more than three seconds with no fear of being labelled a paedophile.

‘Why do you need to look at children? Why is your concern being labelled a paedophile and not the safety of the children? Paedophiles can be ay gender.

‘Number nine, I do agree that the media needs to do a better job of dealing with abuse cases where the abuser is an adult woman and the victim is an adolescent or a teenage boy.

‘There are way too many headlines that say ‘teacher was having an affair with a student,’ that’s disgusting. But however, according to rain.org, 88 per cent of the time CSA is committed by a man, 9 per cent of the time it’s committed by a female.’

She added: ‘And there are many, many reasons why a case will not go to court. Numbers 11 and 12 – If I get a divorce, I’ll get custody or I will get alimony.

‘Alimony is not a female privilege – anybody might have to pay alimony and anyone can get custody.

‘Yeah, courts tend to favour the woman, but they’re looking at who is the primary caregiver, who is responsible for most of the daily responsibilities.

‘Number 13, there’s much more fundraising for breast cancer research than for prostate or testicular cancer. They are cancer patients, none of them are privileged. Give all of them as much money as they want.

‘Also, men can also get breast cancer and it’s more common.’

Nearing the end, she continued: ‘Number 14, if I marry a rich man I don’t have to work and people will say I’m successful. Gold diggers get made fun of all the time, what are you talking about?’

Number 15 on the Reddit list claims that women are ‘always protected from genital mutilation,’ which Cece said ‘is just not true’.

She continues: ‘Number 20 – I can fight for my gender’s issues with no fear of being labelled a whiny sexist or a chauvinist pig. Feminists also get made fun of, what are you talking about?

’21, everybody from a young age is taught that they must not hit me. Nobody should be hitting anybody.

’22, due to accusations of sexism, many places now hire preferentially or exclusively women. That’s not true, you can’t discriminate based on gender.’

One user questioned: ‘Literally where are periods allowed to be an excuse?’

A second insisted: ‘Courts actually favor men in child custody cases where the custody is disputed. Most women get custody because men don’t ask for it. ‘

Meanwhile, a third added: ‘These men need to ask themselves one simple question, and that’s ‘Who set that system up?”

Others chimed in with: ‘“Female privilege” and then it’s just a bunch of patriarchal rules lol’ and ‘I don’t know about you ladies but I never got to use my period to get out of anything. Not even my first one, still had to go to school.’

Another remarked: ‘Men’s rights activist is the most INSANE sentence I’ve ever heard’.

Someone else added: ‘Female privilege is just little nuggets of rare responses to a system created by men for men, while male privilege is omnipresent and exists in almost every aspect of life.’
