Pedestrian killed in Centennial crash

DENVER (KDVR) — The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Monday morning.

At around 7:15 a.m., the sheriff’s office tweeted that all lanes of East Arapahoe Road at South Dexter Street in Centennial were closed due to a crash between a car and a pedestrian.

About 40 minutes later, the sheriff’s office confirmed the pedestrian had died from their injuries.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperating, said deputies.

The sheriff’s office said roads would be closed for at least another hour while deputies continued their investigation. At around 8:30 all eastbound lanes of East Arapahoe Road were reopened.

Colorado State Patrol investigations and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit were also on scene.
