DENVER (KDVR) — A small plane with one occupant made an emergency landing on southbound U.S. Highway 287 Sunday afternoon.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said the single-engine Cessna was heading from Cheyenne to Broomfield when it began experiencing mechanical issues.
The pilot, a 36-year-old man, made a safe emergency landing on Highway 287 near Niwot Road just after 3 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
After the landing, BCSO said the plane was “carefully pushed off the road.”
No one was injured and the road remained open while emergency vehicles from multiple agencies were on the scene. BCSO said those emergency vehicles will stay there while the Federal Aviation Administration begins its investigation into what prompted the emergency landing.
