CHICAGO — Chicago police are trying to track down suspects involved in two separate shootings Sunday that left a total of four people dead.

Two teenagers were killed in the separate shootings, including a 14-year-old boy. Police say they have no suspects in custody for either shooting.

The first shooting occurred just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Rogers Park on the city’s Far North Side. Police responded to a shooting at a park in the 7300 block of North Rogers Avenue and say four adults were standing in the park when two people came into the park and shot at them.

According to police, a 19-year-old woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest and later pronounced dead. Three others, a 22-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, were taken to hospitals in good condition, police say.

The suspects in that shooting, police say, fled on foot, heading north on Winchester Avenue.

Later Sunday, just after 7:30 p.m., another shooting that killed three people and injured another happened inside a residence on the 8000 block of South Vincennes Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood on the city’s South Side.

In that shooting, police say, four victims were inside the residence when two people came in and opened fire.

A 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead on the scene with a gunshot wound to the back. A 36-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest and later pronounced dead, and a 20-year-old man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and also later pronounced dead.

Additionally, a 17-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the left leg and remains the only survivor of the shooting.

Currently, it is unclear what led to that shooting, and police say an investigation is now underway. Authorities have not yet identified any of the victims.

Anyone with information on either of the shootings is asked to contact CPD immediately or dial 911.
