Ontario Premier Doug Ford is holding a news conference in Oliver Paipoonge, Ont., on Thursday morning.
A provincial spokesperson said Energy Minister Todd Smith and Indigenous Affairs Minister Greg Rickford will be joining Ford.
Further details about the visit weren’t made available.
The rural municipality of Oliver Paipoonge is just west of Thunder Bay and has about 6,000 residents. It includes the villages of Kakabeka Falls, Rosslyn and Murillo.
Ford visited Thunder Bay in July 2021 while northwestern Ontario battled intense wildfires.
The premier met with wildfire evacuees, First Nations leaders and an emergency operations team. The visit came in the wake of numerous calls for Ford to visit the region and declare a state of emergency.
He also was in Thunder Bay in May 2022 leading up to the last provincial election.
Ford has been making himself available to media over the past week, following the release of the provincial budget, including during stops in Toronto and Hamilton.
