Adorable moment baby grabs William’s finger as he greets crowds in Singapore

Prince William was greeted by a sea of people as he arrived in Singapore, with one very-young fan appearing mesmerised by the future King.

As William made his way along the crowds, an eight-month-old baby girl captured the attention of the father-of-three.

In the adorable moment, William held out his finger which she grabbed onto and looked up at the royal.

The little girl then pulled William’s finger to her mouth, at which point he began to laugh.

Little Albane Costa, who is on a three-day layover in Singapore on a trip from New Caledonia to France to visit her father Ervan’s parents, will always have that claim to fame when she is older.

The Prince was accompanied by Sim Ann, a minister of state at the Singapore foreign ministry during the visit to Jewel, a nature-themed complex featuring the waterfall as its centrepiece.

Together they were also shown a new Tembusu tree that was planted to commemorate William’s visit as it is a well-known native plant to Singapore and one that features on the country’s $5 notes.T

his tree species was also chosen in tribute to the Tembusu sapling that the late Queen planted at Jurong Hill during her visit to Singapore in 1972.

Prince William was shown the newly planted tree by James Fong, the CEO of Jewel.Singaporeans and tourists joined a crowd of several hundred to greet the Prince.

Amna Yaacob, who was waiting in the crowd, said: “I’m so excited and shocked, I had no idea Prince William was coming.”“This is the one chance I will get in my life, it’s a dream,” she said.

Prince William is in Singapore, one of the world’s most environmentally-friendly cities, for a jam-packed four days.

The official Earthshot Prize Awards event will take place on November 7.

The event aims to find technological innovations to solve the world’s biggest environmental problems over the next decade. At the main event on Tuesday, William will be joined by a host of famous faces.

Last week, it was announced that Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham will host the ceremony on November 7.

Other famous faces that will be in attendance at the ceremony will include actor Lana Condor, Cate Blanchett, zookeeper Robert Irwin.

Entertainment at the event will be provided by Bastille and OneRepublic.

Unlike the other two ceremonies, the Prince of Wales has arrived in Singapore without wife Princess Kate.

The mother-of-three decided to stay put in Windsor to care for their children, as well as being present during Prince George’s exam period. Princess Kate wanted to stay home to support their 10-year-old son as he is due to sit some school exams this week.
